August 6th Update

Doctor:
  • August 3rd we went to the doctor.  Colter James' heart beat was very "upbeat" at 163!  He has dropped some but not enough for me to be really close to labor yet.  I'll be ready anytime after the 10th!  Once I finish employee reviews and train my replacement, I will be ready!
House:
  • Colter finished the fence all by himself!!! He worked some during the week and finished Sunday afternoon. It looks sooo great.  He did a fabulous job.  We will post pics soon.
  • Thank you to my mom for coming up Sunday and helping a little in the house and mostly helping outside!  Yes everyone, she mastered the weed-eater! While Colter mowed the yard, Mom edged the yard!
  • I have officially finished washing baby clothes, sheets, and blankets!  The nursery is ready! :)
  • Plans for tonight: eat and sleep!  We are very tired after all the weekend work!

Counting down!

We are counting down the days! The end of August will be here soon!!

We had a doctor check-up last week.  Baby P's heart rate was 149... which is very good! I was measuring right at 31.5 weeks.

For those that haven't already heard, Colter and I decided on a name for Baby P!  Colter James Pearson Jr. :)  Colter is going to call him "Colt" and when they are together I'll call him "Colter James."

Colter has been working really hard around the house to get everything ready for our son's arrival.  Here is a picture of him beside the nursery closet. He painted and added shelving! My handy man! :)
New Nursery Closet!

 Nursery Crib
(work in progress)
Also, Colter along with my brother, mother and father have been working on installing a fence in our backyard to allow Zoey free roam of the backyard.  I'll post a picture when the fence is complete.

My brother Tom and sister in law Amy came for a visit 2 weeks ago!  We had a blast hanging out with them! We all got to watch 4th of July fireworks together!

This past Saturday we had Colter James' baby shower!  It was so great!  Everyone did an amazing job on food, decorations, etc.  I could not have asked for a better shower!  Thank you everyone who helped, attended, sent a gift, or was there in spirit (i know many couldn't travel here).
The roses were a gift from my sweet husband!  On the day of my baby shower he came by before it was over to say hey to everyone and brought the hostess gifts.  When he got there with the hostess gifts he came up to me with a dozen roses and said this is for the host of the baby!  :)   melt my heart.

crazy, busy, fun life!

April and May have been sooo busy!  This post is going to be in a bullet format so I can spare you from the otherwise many paragraphs!
Since our last post:
  • Colter and I got part of our backyard fenced in (thanks to Colter and my mom and dad).  We hope to finish fencing the rest in sometime this month.  Zoey (our pup) is very excited about this!
  • At work we've had 21 new employees added to our organization- 2 will join my team when they finish training.
  • Colter's work is going well.  We just attended a farewell dinner for a doctor who's leaving the hospital.
  • April Doctor appt: Baby P is doing well and weighs over a pound! Heartbeat very strong!
  • My mother retired from the hospital- 32 years of service!  Congrats Mom! (picture below)
  • Colter and I attended a leadership conference that had some amazing speakers, authors, professors, etc!  I'll share a few quotes (below) from the conference that Colter and I really liked.
  • Good friends of ours got married.  We attended their Greek rehearsal dinner and wedding. It was a very unique, authentic Greek experience!  Always neat to learn about another religion.
  • Colter's played golf several times. He really enjoys the sport.  Wish I could play with him but my belly gets in the way. haha
  • We attended 2 charity events...one was a Derby party!  (picture below)
  • We've had both our cars worked on...only small issues thankfully.
  • We had a small plumbing leak at our house and got that resolved after getting some outrageous and almost funny quotes.
  • Colter and I started getting the nursery ready!  We have a crib, mattress, and a new rocker/glider! :) We have also picked out the paint color for the room and bought new shelving for the closet that Colter will soon install! :) my handy man.  My grandmother is making the baby a quilt so with my mom's expertise, Colter and I selected several fabrics for the quilt that will match the nursery colors/bedding.
  • We celebrated my first Mother's Day!  Baby P and Zoey got me flowers and Colter gave me a beautiful orchid! :) :)
  • We have another doctor appt coming up on the 24th.  Soon after this appt I think we'll start seeing the doctor every 3 weeks rather than 1x a month.  Only 15 weeks and and 2 days left!
  • We've registered for all our prenatal classes!  The first class starts June 4th!

Okay, so y'all get the picture.  Super busy!!!

Here are a few pictures from our past month...

Happy Easter!

It's a...........

We went to the doctor on Friday, March 30th for an ultrasound.  At that point we were 18 weeks.

We found out we're having a boy!!!!

No names have been finalized yet. We are soooo happy about our little boy and thankful for a healthy pregnancy so far!  I'll try and post some ultrasound pictures soon.

Charity Gala

Kid One is a charity that helps kids get to needed doctor appointments.  A lot of families don't have a vehicle or one that currently works.

Did you know that 16.6% of Alabamians lived below the poverty line according to the 2009 Census Data?  That means that 25.8% of children lived in households below the poverty line. (Poverty line = $22,050 for a year for a family of 4 or $10,830 for an individual for a year)

So, enough education for today, but I say all that to say.... A lot of people are less fortunate than us.  I hope we all keep that in perspective. We are richly blessed... in jobs, friends, and family!

Here are a few pictures from the Gala we attended.  To raise money there was a live auction, silent auction, and a plated dinner.  We had a lot of fun with friends for a good cause!

Weekend Beach Trip in March

One Friday in March, Colter and I decided we wanted to go to the beach.  We left Saturday morning and returned Monday night. Spur of the moment trips are sometimes the very best!  We had a GREAT time!  We had wonderful fresh seafood and excellent weather!  We couldn't have asked for more!  Zoey even had a doggy daycare she went to during the day so even she had a good time! :)  Here are a few pics from when we played putt-putt golf.

Laser Tag

Hello!  It's been too long! Sorry!  I pretty much go to work, go home, eat, and go to bed these days.  :)
I thought it would be fun to share our recent adventure with laser tag.  A couple friend called us and asked if we wanted to go.  Colter and I jumped at the chance!  We really get into the types of games... as you'll see in the pictures! :)
Gotta love the combat face paint!

After our laser battle Colter played a few video games.  He gave me 6 tickets that I could turn in for a prize.  So naturally I picked somthing that would commemorate our "outing" (in other words the ONLY prize I could get with only 6 tickets)..... a soldier with a gun! haha

2nd Trimester!

We officially started the second trimester on Saturday, 2/18!  I'm especially excited about this because I hope the fatigue and queasiness will cease!  I've been a little under the weather with a sinus infection and constant low grade fever.  Went to the doctor last week due to having a fever for 7 straight days.  We got to hear Baby Pearson's heart beat!  With the first ultra sound it was 155 and last week it was ramped up to 174! Busy growing!
Today I got sick after breakfast but Colter took me to lunch so I'm all better now! :)  We hope to go check out a daycare this afternoon at a local church.  It is considered an "early learning" program and we've heard really good things about it.
Will post more later! Chow for now!

We're pregnant!

What a Christmas!  We found out on Christmas Eve that we are expecting.  Excited and nervous we waited until we returned to Alabama and a doctor confirmed before we told the family.  We had our first ultrasound on 1/19.  The baby's heartbeat was 155 (working hard)!  The doc said all looked good and sounded good! thank goodness!  :)

We've had so much fun telling close friends and family. The funniest stories sprung from a riddle Colter and I created to tell everyone there was a "bun in the oven".  Dawn (Colter's mother) takes the cake for solving the riddle the quickest!  She took 1 minute tops!  Tom (Lindsey's oldest brother) took the longest but had the FUNNIEST answers...that were wrong.

Okay, some of you may not remember or know the riddle so here goes:
What's brown and round and not gluten free,
You place it in a box that reaches 500 degrees.
                                                                                ...... Bun in the oven!

(not round brownies Tom!) haha

That's all I have time to write for now.... much more to come!  Stay tuned!
